ABOUT ABOUT

A London Organ Day visit to Westminster Central Hall is overdue! The organ was restored in exciting and exacting fashion by Harrison and Harrison in 2011, and I have been itching to take LOD there. Central Hall is a busy place: having it to ourselves for a whole day is a privilege and huge thanks are due to the team there for making this possible. During the day we will hear original organ music by Bridge, Stanford, Parry and - excitingly - Lemare, whose considerable contribution to the repertoire is over-shadowed rather by his many virtuosic arrangements of orchestral scores. The art of transcription will be explored too, and the fascinating history of the venue, it’s organ and organists. As ever, a brilliant cast of performers await you: Gerard Brooks, Timothy Byram-Wigfield, James Lancelot, Weston Jennings and Richard Brasier. I look forward to seeing you there!
